Flavoring with beer

Post by garycain »

I had a discussion with a german guy who owns a brewery where I live. In our discussion about aging and flavoring he said that after he gets a few months age on his white whiskey he dilutes it with Paulaner Salvator a dopple bock to whatever strength he is looking for. Any one tried this??
I am a novice distiller but have been brewing for over 15 years. I thought I had heard it all.
FYI the regular posters have been a lifesaver as I stumble thru this unique pastime. Thank you

I think the better question would be. Did you taste it? We can use most anything to dilute spirits, but the question would be on taste. The good thing about dilution is you don't need to use big samples to see if it's going to be tasty or not. A shot of 95% and a shot of beer in a glass would be enough
