Metallic after-taste

Post by blanikdog »

I realize that this 'problem' may be due to my cancer affecting my taste, but I wonder if anyone has a clue why my spirit has a distinct metallic after-taste? I've not noticed it until the last few months and it's sort of like sucking an old fashioned penny. It's not noticable at first but comes about 10 seconds after swallowing. It's got me totally stuffed.

Hadn't done any new construction on the still before that batch? New scrubbers? New parrot?

One of the solutions injected during a chimo session has a lot of platinum in it and is notorious for leaving a metallic after taste.

Tastes are WAY off blanik. Nothing much you can do about that. Even the finest stuff, may taste like shit for a while. I am seeing the same thing with Barb. But she has been off chemo for about 4 weeks now, and things have returned to 75% normal. So just keep in mind, off tastes and other crappy side effects will end at some time.

Barb actually 'recovered' enough to finally celebrate our anniversary. Went out to Red Lobster, and she ate. She has actually been eating pretty good the last week or so, and even working full days the past few days.

However, she goes back in for chemo Thursday :( Triple strength from what she was on, but it is now only once every 3 weeks, vs every week. Looks like it is time for my shoulder to prop her up again for a while.

Good news, husker. I go for a CAT scan tomorrow. Really looking forward to that. :(
