Re: Smillies
It is one thing we are 'looking' at doing.
We have to add the graphics and add the 'text' that is stored in the message (but converted to a graphic image by the forum).
If you know of a good source of 'free' smilies, please let us know.

Re: Smillies
I 'doubt it' The smilies are actually 'installed'. They are small graphic images on the file sytem of the board. Then there are magic bbcode thing (like colon : and close paren ) which make up the smileypumpman wrote:Is it possable to copy from another site and send to you in a pm?I tried this on a thread and it did not work.

The php code reads data data that was posted by the user, and instead of outputting that : and ) chars, it inserts a IMG link that shows the pic.
Thus, we need to have the graphics, and then do whatever 'setup' is needed to get the smiley code 'tied' to the php source. I know it can be done. I have not looked at how to do it exactly, but I am pretty sure it is something we 'can' do if we get some similes we want to use.
I am not sure we can get them from web sites. We 'might' be able to, simply by right clicking on the graphic, and doing a save. If it stores the animated gif file, then I think we can get the smiley added.
If you get some, send me a pm and we can see what we can do.

Re: Smillies
If you can find some drinking smilies, and some drunk smilies, I would LOVE to see that

Re: Smillies
I found out how to turn 'on' some smilies that were already there. I also found some smilies that fit in well with phpbb. I will try to upload those.
It will take more, as I have to setup width/height of each one, do the uploads, and then 'link' them to the page. But now that I have found where it is done, I am pretty sure I can add more.
All of the ones after 'mr-green' are new ones (at this time). This has been something I have wanted to do for a while (more smilies makes for making more jovial posts, IMHO). I just have not taken the time to figger out how the F to do it until now.

Re: Smillies
They have to be 'built' into a smilies pack, and then uploaded to the site. I am working on what is 'needed'. The ones added were already 'loaded', but had never been 'attached'. I think UJ was looking at this at one time. I have downloaded a couple smiley packs, and understand them. I can build the *.pak file needed by hand (will take a little, but I can do it), once I get the smilies.
Arbitrary larger smiley images will not be put. They do not fit into the current look and feel of the site. Smilies that are a little larger are no problem (say 2 smilies clinking mugs together, but same 'sized' smiley people).
This will not be done overnight, but I will work on it.
