copper pot markings
I just located a large copper pot, very heavy, hand hammered, probably 60-80 lbs 20-30 gallons.
It was previously used for a still
I need help identifying the markings
2 crossed flags 1 Each Switzerland and British
HELVEPA
LONDON A ????????
Coppersmiths
I would post a pic but its on my phone, cant get it to pc.
If someone has an idea where I can locate info on the net it would be most appreciated
I've been looking for hours
Thanks Guys

Re: copper pot markings
Hey Goose not discrediting your help, just unable to find those markings on anything Helvetia. Was just hoping to find some other pots with those markings to determine manufacture date, value, and such. I believe in the marking it has the persons name who hand hammered the pot. Hoping to find others to see if thats the case. Sorry for making you feel you wasted your time, as that was not at all my intention. Look forward to great advice from you and others.
Sincerely
J.B.

Re: copper pot markings
I have since found a couple pots and and they do say HELVETIA but the design is a little different. Wondering if this is an indicator of date of manufacture. No big deal if I dont find out I bought it anyway.
Thanks for yalls help

Re: copper pot markings
Has it been tinned on the inside, or is it patina?
Helvetia was/is a region in Switzerland. I couldn't come up with any coppersmiths from there. Lots of reference to coins, as far back as Roman times. (The Romans named the region after the Helvetii Tribe that lived there)

Hey Hawke
The pot has a very nice patina, it does have some stuff soldered on it that I will have to check for lead.
Hey Goose
I'll give you my second born son, thats the best I got, when I have the second one he's yours. The first one is enough for me.
If your offering I'll take any info I can get. But I am pretty broke at the moment.
I have not had time to check out the links yall gave me, I will do that now.
Thanks for the help
