Hi. I fermented out 6 gallons of ec1118 gewurztraminer grapes and did a stripping run with it... (my still holds just under five gallons so I did it in two runs).
I now have a one gallon jar of low wines which measures out at 45%
I also have a 1.5 litre jar with the final little bit of strip... probably around 20-25%.
does anyone here have any advice or tips for running a spirit run with such a small volume?
should I turn the heat as low as possible to still get a boil? I am also thinking that I should collect in small increments... I am thinking about something like pop-can size amounts?
any thoughts would be appreciated.

What helped me with my first few small runs was to use 1/2 pint jars for collecting.
Add all your strippings together and cut to under 40% with distilled water.
I would try to run it slow enough to have a slightly broken stream.

It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.

For my money, that would have been a dead on bullseye.
Hawke, I recon you could make that shot blind folded with one arm tied behind your back by now.
