Bi carb/Blue Fibre

Post by SuperDavid »

Hello
I've added bicarb to several of my stripping runs and several days later I seem to have little blue fibres/specs in the bottom of the jar along with some undisolved bi carb.
Not all of them have the blue. Some jars are the first half of the strip and some are the second half so abv varies amongst the jars. I havn't measured abv in the jars with the blue and I also havn't had a chance to get some of the fibre out of the jar and see what it feels like, but is it possible the copper mesh in my liebig is breaking down and I've got copper in my strip? or has it got something else to do with bicarb and acidity?
The strip itself hasn't turned blue and it does smell ALOT cleaner than before I put the bicarb in, so I guess nothing too bad has happened?
I'm just curious about how the blue fibres have come about and weather its all still safe.

thanks

nitrogen+alkaline=ammonia+copper=blue
was it a turbo wash? and new clean still
Im gessing but Id say you carried over the nirogen and some copper when you distilled then when you added
bicarb you made it alkaline and turnd the copper blue
run agin leaving the copper behind.
