1st Stripping Run

Post by Mark Ducati »

I read the section on "Stripping" a few times... basically, a fast run to get all the alcohol out not cutting the heads/hearts/tails will allow the 2nd run easier for the distiller to taste/smell better to decide when to make his "cuts".

But the one thing it didn't mention was when to remove the Foreshot? Would you recommend removing it slowly at first during the stripping run, then crank the heat up for a rapid stripping distillation.... or do you guys just let her rip from the get go then remove the Foreshot on the second distillation?

So, remove Foreshot on First stripping run or Second Distillation?

Thanks,
M.

+1

However, jury is still out on that one Mark.

You may prefer to toss fores on both runs as I believe every one of your questions to date have been about fores 8)

Thanks LWTCS,

I promise, I've been reading A LOT! Just making sure I'm being safe...

Ever shoot or own a gun? Remember your first weapon? I'm sure you may have had a million questions too... unless you grew up with them. I never had a daddy teach me about weapons, never grew up with them... NOW, I got so many darn heaters, I don't start wars, I finish them... hahahaha.
