Follow the tutorial on your second link.
Remove the snap ring and U R golden.
There are also lots of posts here that describe what one should do to connect one's forthcoming column to said keg.
Find the "stickies"

Ah.
Will the center portion depress to releive pressure?
Is there any kind of visible retaining clip (or the like)?
Perhaps under the rubber seal?
Some kind of groove or flat spot?

it looks like it will depress almost certainly, i figure this thing is what they use to fill the kegs up normally etcLWTCS wrote:Ah.

Piece of cake dude.
Put a towel over the outlet so you don't get hosed down with rank beer.
Get a small screwdriver or awl behind the end of the retainer clip and pull away from the seat groove.
Then grip with some needle nose pliers and shuffle/shimmy the thing off.
Uh,,,, do this after you release the pressure within the keg.

There is a retaining ring. If you will look veryclose there is a place to stick a small screwdriver to pry it out. It can be alittle stubborn to get started. once you remove the flat ring then you can just turn the center piece and remove it. BE SURE TO PUSH IN ON THE BALL TO RELIEVE ALL PRESSURE FIRST!!!!

Re: Got a Keg! Wait.. WTH is this
ahhh guys, your all missing where my troubles are
I cannot see the ball
there is a 'lid' on this keg, see the photo in the original post
edit: just found this gem
"I worked out the kegs.
They are the ones with the flat metal center and rubber ring in the center.
You push down on the rubber ring against the spring preasure, lift the metal center at the same time and twist it to disengage the spear.
Then you just unscrew the top and the lot comes out.
the center spear has a 3 pin rotating locking system and one of the pins is extended to make it dificult to remove the spear.
Easy
just file it down so it still locks in but can be easily removed and installed each time by simply screwing the main top of the spear assembly."
this still is different from you americans get /sadface
now the question is can i still use one of those keg columns with an adapter of some sort or what

Dude,
Thanks for the links... how many gallons does that kind of keg hold? I got a turkey fryer that a keg like that would fit on top of...
I gotta feeling I see a bigger still in my future (distant future, but future for sure)...

Or lie the bugger down. The rank, smelly, stale, sticky beer comes out very fast and furious, believe me. Sort of thing you only do once.

BIG + 1. Lie it down and point the valve end away from anything important, like the wife's washing or favourite roses.blanikdog wrote:Kentucky shinner wrote:BE SURE TO PUSH IN ON THE BALL TO RELIEVE ALL PRESSURE FIRST!!!!
