Welcome aboard lump, Head on over to our welcome center, we have lots of folk here that just like to say hello to new members.

To answerer your question, Ian Smiley has a book titled Making Pure Corn Whiskey that is suppose to be a pretty good guide. I haven't read it so I can't give a review. Really there are only a hand full of books on the subject.

Everything you ever want to know about making whiskey is right hear on this site although, it's not all condensed into a simple guide.

Making whiskey isn't so much a recipe, or something you can get from a book. It's a process, it's trial and error, patience, experience, time consuming, and very rewarding. No two distillers do whiskey the same way just as no two whiskeys are the same.

There are lots of folks hear happy to help you out but you have a lot of studying to do.

thanks I am very excited to try this I am interested in the whole process and the idea of maybe making my own whisky I love for me!
It does seem very confusing I am trying to figure out the steps. I have never made beer or anything before. In the the last year I have gotten into whisky
I am not a big conasoure but like to try a variaty to see what I like. I am canadian and I have been partial to some of the canadian brands but have found a few others I have liked. I am collecting info and look forward to experimenting. thanks

be patient and do lots of reading right here on this site. You wont find any better information anywhere and the folks here are great about helping after you have done your research. This hobby is very addictive though, There you have been warned.
Good luck and enjoy

Cheers Lumpy,

As time passes and you move forward to find your way,,,,,,I'll wager you will much prefer your own handcrafted over any store bought by a long shot.
