There are pretty common in my neck of the woods in health food stores. If you see a European Deli, check the spices section. Juniper berries are used in a couple of dishes.
Hooch.

Re: Where do I get Juniper Berries?
Hey Rossco, I use dried berries, I think most of us do.
I can't think of a way to do gin in reflux still. Maybe if you pulled out the packing but I haven't tried so I don't really know.

Re: Where do I get Juniper Berries?
In the guide to running a brewshop cm (new distillers reading lounge) it's explained how to detune that reflux still into a pot. dried berries will work, but probably won't be as strong. Mine aren't anyway, I generally up the juniper slightly from recipes.

Anything special I need to know about when the best time for harvest is, kiwi. (I don't mean dawn just as the sun is a red line on the horizon either)

Re: Where do I get Juniper Berries?
Most Iv seen here in states are shrubs,a short needled evergreen,(6mm) growing about 1m tall, mostly seem to like rocky hillsides, but is grown as ornaments, hedges etc. The "berries" are really small cones that are covered with a "skin".

Re: Where do I get Juniper Berries?
OD and kiwi. They're grown as hedges and stuff, I've always thought of them as a cypress. The buggers are everywhere once you find one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniper" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow Look for one and pick a seed pod and smell it - GIN!!!!!
Now, I may be barkin up the wrong tree here and I'm sure that someone will tell us if I am, but I'veheard this from a number of folk so I reckon I'll try the buggers and let you know the result, assuming I survive.

Re: Where do I get Juniper Berries?
I remember we had some as a kid. Really nasty itchy little shrubs. If you hit the base ball into them you got a home run but you had to go get the ball.
