How many scrubbers?

Post by mikeofa2 »

I just finished my first run using sugar/turbo. Stuff smells like cheap tequila ass (planning on a second run). My pot still has a 3'x2" column. How high up the column should the scrubbers go? Should I add bi card now to the second run for neutral spirits or is there still a chance I can salvage some flavors?

How similar to that? that's a pot still. adding scrubbers may give you an extra % or two, but unless you run it amazingly slow (like at least 50% ofthe heat input being radiated out the copper column) it's not going to behave like a reflux.

add bicarb now, let it sit. What do you mean by " salvage flavor"? your trying to loose the flavors in a neutral. your chances of cleaning up a sugar/turbo wash with a pot still..... not so good. if yer lookin fer neutral, do some research on a reflux, and a better recipe. Looks like a nice pot still though :)
