New guy in Arkansas
I just aquired an authentic old time( genuine antique ) 40 gallon copper ( bird beak style ) still so i decided i would try to figure out how to use it.my interest is in making traditional ozark mountain straight corn/sugar/yeast White Lightnin.i have a question concerning the mash however.how long can i wait after it quits ( working ) to run it. any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks James

Strain it if its on grain and go for it.
I use a pot still.Sometimes with a thumper
Re: New guy in Arkansas
will definately strain it was just wondering if i could wait a few days after it quits workin before i run it. or if it is time sensitive. thanks

You should have plenty of time as your abv will give you a measure of leeway.
Pretty sure tater is implying to run it when your ready.

I will get some pics as soon as i can.I bought it off craigslist from a guy cleaning out some old stuff his father had stored.he didnt know what it was. i paid 80 bucks for it( before i told him what it is ).figured if nothin else i could scrap it for the copper and come out ahead.
