Candy Flavoring
Has anyone used any candy flavoring liquids to make liqours. I had a peach liqour today that was perfectly clear and sweet but tasted like peach candy (somewhat artificial) but was very good. Way to much flavor for it to have been added before distill. But way to clear to be made with real peaches (clear as my nuetral). Any ideas.....

Re: Candy Flavoring
My local grocery store carries this brand of candy flavorings. https://www.lorannoils.com/c-6-super-st ... 5wodbTEuWg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
I haven't tried it yet but, if I can ever get ahead on my stock, I want to try using some to flavor a vodka.

Re: Candy Flavoring
Funny you should post this. Last time I posted about something "unnatural" i was almost run off the board. I had considered making a post on a quite succesful try i had with a candy called Hot Tamales. It is a cinnamon flavored candy found most often in Movie Theaters.
My supermarket had large boxes of them on display so I picked one up. On the way home I decided to use them in a liqour. I took the candies and cut them in half lengthwise and added to a half gallon of 100 proof neutral. In three days the sugary outsides of the candy and all the color had been absorbed by the neutral, leaving a kinda gummy part behind still in the shape of the candy. I let it sit for a week then strained the liqour off and discarded the gummy substance. I was left with a hazy, but very pretty reddish pink liquor. I strained this through paper towels and let sit another week. I strained through coffee filters at the end of the week and then promptly forgot about it. About a month later i had an afternoon off so i decided to strain the 12 jars of macerating liquors I had sitting around and when I came back to the Hot Tamale jar there was about a quarter inch of fine sediment on the bottom. I carefully removed the liquid from the sediment and strained it one last time through coffee filters. It tasted great but lacked some body. I added a half cup of honey and set it in the sun for a day allowing the honey to melt/mix with the liquor. I ended up with two quarts of very fine hot cinnamon liqour that would be very comparable to Hot Shot Schapps u can buy in the store. But it is a far prettier color.

Re: Candy Flavoring
just use hard candy, the hot Tamiles/gummy bares/gum drops the "chewy" kinds have starch in them and that is the Haze and sediment.

I don't actually mean using candy but the flavoring you would find at a craft store for making candy. They have several types of flavors.

You can do that, you end up with something like schnapps, it does lack "something" as most artificial flavors do. most flavors have 100s of combinations, artificial has just a few.I do have a place where you can buy on line much cheeper than thoes in a store.
