Protien Shake?

Sugar, and all about sugar washes. Where the primary ingredient is sugar, and other things are just used as nutrients.

Protien Shake?

Post by Chasin' Tales »

Has anyone tried adding to a sugar ferment some of the powdered protien shake mix used by body builder/weight lifing types? Looking at the makeup of some of these shakes on the GNC www, it looks like they might be a good source of protiens, lipids, amino acids, etc that would make for a healthy ferment.

I've got quite a bit of stripped product to run before fermenting another batch. Next sugar wash I will give it a try. I know others have had good results adding energy drinks. This looks like it would be along the same lines but perhaps cheaper in the long run.

Maybe I could also start lifting weights while watching the still, eh?

sounds interesting, but I certainly haven't heard of positive results from energy drinks. heard a few negatives though.

Yes.
Vitimen water, soy based protein powder and Ovalteen.

Ovalteen, smelled the best during fermenting and tasted pretty darn good as beer. But had a bit of (ok, a lot lesser) lesser quality when tasted side by side with my rum.

conclusion:
Meh.
