Hello Novice looking for advice.

Post by MortimusFlintlock »

Hello I'm looking for some advice on distilling. I' have a 10.5 gallon keg/pot still. It's got one run under its belt but I'm new to this and still confused on a few things specifically how to tell when the heads are done burning off and when the tails begin. Any help would be appreciated.

Cuts are done with taste & smell & experience, read about making cuts in the" new distillers reading lounge".

I read these very basic posts and shudder to think of some of the muck I made - and drank - before I found this forum. Perhaps that explains my occaisional lapses of bad temper now.

MF, do as OD said and read your heart out. Read the stickies. Everything is there and it will make life so much easier, and you won't be drinking the muck as I was.

good luck and stay safe.
