Hello Everyone

Post by Freddy57 »

I'm a brewer/winemaker so this is going to be a logical next step in my hobby. I've done a lot of reading and research on the topic and just ordered an eight-gallon dual-purpose still from Mile Hi this morning. It looks like it should be loads of fun and very educational to boot. My "engine" will probably run best on distilled wine and some of those pot still concoctions but just in case it gets finicky I decided I should have the capability of making a more refined product, hence the dual purpose column. I've been enjoying reading the posts here and decided to join in and say hi.

Welcome bloke,

if you find your "engine" is not idling as well as you had hoped, "whining" a little, there's a wealth of receipes to suit all engine types.

Sounds like youe well organised.

enjoy and be safe

cheers

Kentucky Shinner, I know what you mean. Years ago a friend told me about everclear and how it would get you laid every time, I drank that stuff till I passed out and never even got close. The next time, I let the girls drink it and man, I got a whole different response...

Walking Wolf, I prefer brandies and bourbons. I like lot of flavor in my beers that I brew so I figure that I'm going to want the same in my spirits. I might make some neutral for making liquers and such but I definitely would not even consider drinking anything like that straight.
