Unlined Copper Boiler

Post by KennyC »

Simple question. Is unlined copper boiler safe with no lining such as SS or tin?

Cheers!

Thanks Dnderhead. I was just worried about leaching copper. About the soldering: Only way to do this with a lead testing kit?

I used a lead test kit from the Big Box store in the paint section. They sell the kits to test paint for lead.

For metal (solder) you take a piece of emery cloth and rough up the test area, break the vial of test solution inside the applicator, and hold the end against the solder. The end of the applicator will react to any lead in the solder. Or not.

Bull.
