The Old Timer

Post by 0re0 »

At a family get together today I spoke to a great-great uncle of mine.
He is 80 yrs old and been making wine since the 60's. He wants a quart of of my shine.
Anyway, we were talking and he told me to come to his house. He has muscadine wine that
been aging for 2 years. He even has some blackberry wine that he bottled in 1985...I doubt he gonna let me sample that

Now he is 80, he said he can't do it like he used to could do it.
so I'm thinking of offering my services to him as a mule (so to speak). Go do all the manual work for him and at the same time learn
his techniques and recipes and get some drinking product in return for my hard work. You know he's full of knowledge.
Plus it'll make me feel good knowing that I helped someone do something constructive

Sounds like a great idea. Learn a little, help out and hear some great stories ...

I think I will mention it to him when I deliver this quart.

my great grandpa used to make and run shine all over the Southeast US.
I love hearing his stories about out running the cops in his car and stuff
