Something to See!

I've been faithfully reading, studying, and learning with every visit to this site (and I still have a long way to go!). There is an over abundance of experience, information, and guide (Not Complaining One Bit!) Step by step posts about fermenting, washes, stilling, making cuts, ageing, and some even with detailed picture documentary. But I have not found the first video documentary, or even small video clips. Forgive me if this subject has already been tackled, I just have not found it yet. Maybe there is a policy here about videos? I believe privacy is very important, so one would have to be very discrete (no faces, locations, or identities) ... but a small video tutorial would be amazing ... step by step video on "How To" from making your favorite wash, to soldering, to running a still CORRECTLY, to properly using a oak barrel. Reading is essential, and a picture is worth a thousand words, but a video clip, priceless.... What does everybody/anybody think?

there are a few vid links. Some malting vids and such (from a user absenth I think). I am sure there are other vid links besides his, also.

The software we use does not have vid capabilities in of itself. If you want vids, then they will have to be put on utube, and then a link to that can be placed here.

i like vids too, easier for me to understand then reading. i am a show how type, more then a read and learn type of guy.

that's what i figured. maybe one of the administrators could create a "Video" thread on the Board Index... then anybody with a utube video link can Post a "New Topic", the link to their video, and we could all watch, discus, and add to it. It would be a great way to organize and create a video section. whatcha guys think?

if your gonna put it on youtube,,, be sute to use the "private" function. this allows only the people with the link to view it,,,not the whole world

i think that would be a good idea. every time that i stumble on a vid ,,, i feel like i found a pot of gold. if they were all in a thread on the board index,, id feel rich.

I have spent hours on youtube looking at stillin' and mashin' vids. I agree that a thread/section where some of our favorit vids could be compiled would be grrrrrrrrrrreat.

Yea it would be nice but I think it would need it's own category for videos. Videos would be commented on individually and added to only if in part 1,2,3 and so on. Or videos would tend to get lost in the shuffle. But up to site admins to set it up how ever they want.
