1 Quart of 100 proof filled about 3/4 full, stack striped peppermints in it for a week or so until the hooch will not melt them anymore, add a dash of lemon juice and let it set for another week or so, take 2 spoonfuls before bed and sleep like a baby with no cough.

I heard popcorns recipe on a trailer for a film. Anybody have that, he seemed pretty convinced it was usable medicine, and the boy seemed to know his stuff.
About that, anybody tried shine as medicine (other than the obvious effects)?

5 or 10 lemmon seeds, put them in a cup of boiling water, let it boil for 2 or 3 minutes more, add 4 or 5 tbsp of rum and 2 of honey sir and let it cool a little, Drink it on the hottest temperature you can and run to bed.
Next morning there will be no cough.
You could add a little more run if you live in a cold place.

This is an odd one. I have sleep apnoea and sleep with an air pressure mask.
Done it for years and it is magic, except when your airway (nose mainly) is not clear; but that is another story.
Now the new machine is clever enough to reduce the pressure almost to nil, when you breathe out.
But the old one I used for many years just kept the pressure constant, so you had to learn to breathe out against the pressure.
I got so used to that, that more often than not I find that I do not breathe much or properly (while I am waiting to go to sleep) unless I am deliberately thinking about it and controlling it; my 'automatic breathing control' is often not working properly.
I don't always have a problem with this, but I find that if I go to bed when I am sleepy, and have a couple of drinks too, I relax enough so that the automatic sleep control in my body mostly works fine.

Re: medical purposes
The Mrs's is just getting over a bout of congestion and a sore throat.
I was taking about an ounce (or more) of honey in a small glass and was heating it in the microwave until warm. Add and equal amount of UJSM at 60% ABV and stir well.
Makes a nice, soothing drink.
Bull.

well ive already got a pint thats been sitting for almost 4days. added 3 6in rock candy stix and 2 ounces of honey and 1tblsp of black pepper and im lettin it work over now. i will say that the honey and pepper will definatly smoothe out a cough but lsat year i ran a fever over 100. i took 2 shots of beam and killed the fever withn 2hrs. got cold sweats and that was the end of that. i think popcorn was right when he said "if it wont for likker, hell i guess some people woulda died."
