The original Magic Flute was born with the idea for a Plated column like are used by commercial builders to be adapted for use for hobby distillers and to be mounted on a keg or similar, and to be able to produce a high ABV with a single run, and carry over flavor http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 0#p6834790.

This is one I just finished for one of our members here.
This was a cleaning run of vinegar and water. That is why the plastic jug and funnel are being used.
Notice the condensation on the delphag and graham... They are very cool.. the pool water was 49F

Re: Flute (or the like) Family Reunion
I received my hillbilly flute from Kentucky Shinner Tuesday this week. I haven't had time to run it or post until this weekend. I have run it twice now and it is awesome. It takes a little getting used to but now I am finally getting the hang of how to run it. It gave me great results with a lot of flavor. I am very impressed with the quality of workmanship. I don't think I could have asked for anything more. Thanks KS

Re: Flute (or the like) Family Reunion
Thanks to Old Dog for opening up a new world for all of us. You should be proud of what you accomplished...
Heres what I come up with using the style of OD's MK2 for inspiration.
-4" column and 3 hand built easy flange site glasses
-3 bubble plates with 2" upcomers, 3" (handmade) caps and 2- 1/2" downcomers per plate
-6" reflag with 7- 1/2" tubes
-2" scalloped take off pipe
-3" by 14" shotgun condenser with 4- 3/4" tubes
-26 gallon boiler
Apart from the cooling lines and parrot, there were no fittings used in the construction process. I also soft soldered everything (although tricky to do). She will do a consistent 90%+ at over a gallon per hr with full flavour on KS's sweet feed. And as u can see by the pic below, with the plates filled with packing, 95%+ neutral at relatively the same production (kind of tough to get the packing out after neutral runs). Feel free to PM me on any build related questions
