apple pie recipie

Post by griller95 »

I am not quite new to distilling, but not extremely experienced. I started buying shine from a buddy, who eventually helped me build my own still. My question is this: Does anybody have a good recipie for Apple pie flavored shine? My distilled liquor is 150 proof. The only recipie I have is 1 gallon apple juice, 1 gallon apple cider, 2 cups sugar, 1/4 tsp of ginger and all spice. I add 3 cinnamon sticks and heat to melt sugar. To that I add, after cooling down, 2 qarts of my 150 proof. It's ok, but there has to be better ways out there. My finished product always has this floating snot-ball of stuff from the cider. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually try and start with a quart of 160 proof white dog, but hold onto that for a sec. Now cook a quart of cider, with a half teaspoon cinnimon, third cup brown sugar, third cup white sugar. 15 minutes if fine .....cool it down to room temp, and then mix the white dog with the cider in a half gallon (preferably glass) container, you should have a half gallon of 80 proof now. Let it set for a month or so (sealed) . It will settle out by that time. carefully filter it through coffee filters into bottles , and enjoy.
