My 1st mix

Post by Morgana-rose »

Hi all, I have a cm super reflux still. i did my first run as my sister was coming over from ozzie, we were surpose to go to christchurch for a wedding but due to the earthquake there was a change of plans. At least my family is fine down there,
anyway, i had a flavoured essence i got from the brew shop called edwards kalooha, i did use that but i ended up adding my own to it like more coffee, chocolate syrup, glucose that i brought from supermarket, considering i donot drink i got a bit tiddley tasting and adding and more tasting and more adding and alot more tasting lol, but in the end my sister loved it, but it ended up being more like the mudshake mix, not sure what i did wrong but it turned out nice, I had also made a drink called candy shots taste like bubble gum, that was nice, and then i made some mixture have no idea but i put in choclate sauce, unlimited sprits brand jaffa flavour, did not taste like anything but awful so i added more sugar, coffee blue mountain brand, and nutella. condense milk, uht milk, in the end i guess it was like a baileys but it was nice too, and with another bottle i tryed making a bourbon, hmm that not so good, it was a still sprits brand but because the company mucked up the boxes or somthing the brew shop sold them cheap as it had no box, my friend tryed it and said it does not taste like bourbon so i added golden syrup seems ok but will wait for a couple of weeks, any sugestions on making bourbon smooth and nice, its a gift to him before he leaves to go to another town in 8wks as hes been a great help. I would post on how much of this and that i used but my lovely daughter rang me as she was just boared and i forgot to write it down while i was making and tasting it, well thanks all for all the advice and ingredints that has been put on this site im yet to do some reading,

Welcome Morgana.

Chch was not the place to go for a wedding. The news has forgotten all about the disaster there, but we still think about it in Australia. Good to hear that your family is OK. It's generally bad news we hear.
Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon)
The Reading Lounge AND the Rules We Live By should be compulsory reading

Cumudgeon and loving it.
