Effect of music on Fermentation

With all the research out there about the effect of music on plants growing and also the gestation of babies in the womb, I have decided to study the effect of music on my fermenting mashes.

I generally listen to Jazz fusion, bass heavy funk and contemporary rhythmic music, sometimes with some underground electronic hip hop mixed in. (very little vocals) I have found the effect on my distillate to be minor, if not only slightly noticeable, but gives my UJSM perhaps a more "upscale urban contemporary" feel, maybe even some complex overtones.

Also I have found that at moderate volumes, the mash tends to seem to bubble almost in rhythm with the music, as if the little yeasties are enjoying what they are hearing. I would like to taste the difference for mashes fermented under different types of music, bluegrass is probably one that I would rather enjoy, and highly doubt I would like the taste of anything prepared with a backdrop of top 40 pop music.

Have any of you studied the effects of music of your process?

im guessing the vibration is knocking the co2 out of solution as it forms.
what would be the effects? will the beasties go faster or slower with less co2?

i actually might have to do a bit of an experiment with this one. maybe waterproof a small speaker, and create some yeasty "headphones" lol.

id guess it would work well during clearing, but stay away from the thrash metal, youll just knock the sediment up again!

I think that the right music, at the right volume, outside the fermenter can have an affect. Not so loud to make the room go boom, but just loud enough that you and the yeasties are enjoying it. Watch your airlock. it'll bubble in time with the music. A week or two later, you can taste the "vibe" of the tunes in your shine.

More CO2 = more C2HfiveOH! I guess knocking off the tiny bubble attached to each yeasty will allow them to swim better and seek out the best micro-climate within the fermentor, but there are so many yeasties it doesn't matter...there will be winners and losers and they all get cooked in the end

Thumping bass and percussion gets the job done with minimal fuss. Melody is for the wino yeasties, and maybe angels choir for fine whiskey agein in oak barrels

That is my theory. Death Metal whiskey would be near undrinkable I think.

Interesting theory, in astronomy I'm learning that waves can travel through us as if we were a gas. Radio wave travel through us but without a receiver we can't hear their sounds, if we could, we'd be hearing hundreds of radio stations in our head.

And I think there is some truth to music helping the rhythm of healthy plant growth.

i listen to everything from the beatles to napalm death. lilly allen to megadeth!
something for every mood.

sometimes i drink ale, sometimes i drink cider.
sometimes vodka, more often whisky.

i smoke cigarettes at work, cigars when im drinkin, and i have an electric cigarette for at home.

eclectic, or just not fussy?
theres a bit of good and a bit of bad in everything!

Funkadelic, as loud as yer woofers'll go. Loud enough to rock yer whole block if you got the system for it. The yeasties love the kickin bass and the radical political sub-text in the lyrics. They're also really into heavy reggae, and heavy grooves in general. Burning Spear, Breakestra, Dr. John, The Upsetters... Good vibes lead to more good vibes down the line, and prevent stuck fermentations.

I would like to try thrash metal whiskey, though. I bet it'd have a good bite, or at least lots of edge. Not so great for a brandy.

Not only would my neighbors be tryin' ta kill me but I would be in serious jepardy of goin' insane! I think I'll stick to some classical, not that my palate is necessarily sofisticated, but I'll maintain my sanity.
