Adirondack Chair made from Whiskey Barrel

Post by Bushman »

Found this site and thought this would be an appropriate chair to sit in while running the still or just sitting out on the deck on a warm sunny day drinking the good stuff. The price is very high but I think it would be easy to make and I plan to do so as soon as I get a barrel. There are free plans online for adirondack chairs and with small modifications to accomodate a barrel it shouldn't be too hard!

I have a winery that sells old barrels at a great price but they are closed until June as the owners winter in Arizona and their winery is on a highway in the North Cascades that is closed until June when more traffic travels east and west. I will try to keep plans and documentation of my build and if it is nice enough I will post plans and pics for anyone interested!

That's nice. Have you seen those cheese boards made with staves? I saw them in winery shops in Napa a couple of years back. They're nice too. I have a barrel lid tucked aside ... one day.

Nice BD gives me more ideas, this might start a whole new thread of how to use barrels besides aging!

I've built a few chairs in my day and ya may need the alchol to keep from abusin' the chair

'course if you're blessed with eternal patience (I'm definitely not) you'll probly do just fine

First chair was in high school wood shop and actually won an award. Only God knows where that chair is today.

I like that. And they're fairly close to where I am. Next time I go through there I might check out their showroom.
