Howdy Ya'll

Post by SRWYSF »

Figured it's about time I said hi. Been lurking in the shadows for months, reading and attempting to absorb some of the infinite knowledge ya'll have provided. I must say "Ya'll have a great group of extremely knowledgeable folk on here!" My brain has been scrambled more than once reading through the boards. I'm sure I will have a few questions as time goes by. Anyway, a little about me...I've been making my own beer and wine for, we'll just say well over 20 years. It kind of scares me to realize I've lasted this long. I figure it's time to take my home brewing to the next level. Thanks to ya'll, I've managed to put together a 2" Bok with removable head, a 42" column (packed with 12" of rasching rings and 30" of copper mesh), an 8" double wound condenser, a liebig cooling condenser and a parrot. I've ran 2 vinegar runs and a water run through it for cleaning and have 5 gal of birdwatchers fermenting for the alcohol cleaning run, then its off to the races. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom! Here's a couple pictures of the parts. Didn't take a pix of it all together, but will post one on the next run. Please don't laugh at my solder job, looks like crap but it don't leak.

Welcome aboard looks like you've done a nice job on your build, if that was your first condenser coil build I am impressed. Took me three tries before I figured out how to do it right. Don't worry about the solder it gets better with practice and if it doesn't leak you've got years of good use ahead :D

Thanks Bushman,

Condenser coil is my third attempt also, had to cheat and fill it with salt.
