If you have seen the colonel's web site "Georgia Ridge Stills", it is an excellant and informative website. He want's a $200.00 deposit, which is reasonable, and then you have to wait 36 weeks for your still to be built, and then pay the difference when it is ready. I called him and he was very nice and answered all my questions politely. Is this gentleman the real deal? Have any of
you fellow distillers dealt with this gentleman and would you please reply with your experience good or bad. My first unit was a pot still off E-bay which the manufacturer had a 100% positive rating. It was a good experience as my rig has been producing fine product for 3 months now! Thank you for your replies, Keep on trucking fellow distillers. I still say I wish I had taken up this hobby while my Irish/Italian father was STILL here. I know he is watching over me and surely is very proud of me!!!

Just from reading here on HD, the Colonel has a good rep. No personal experience. Good luck.

Ya the guy's solid, I would buy his rig. The 36 week wait period says a lot. If your serious about buying a still of that caliber PM me and I can give you the info for a guy that can do you what your after without the year wait. He isn't cheep but he doesn't really do hobby level stuff either.

Re: Georgia Ridge Stills, good or bad?
Georgia Ridge stills are top-notch. They are built like a damn tank. They are not for the impatient, both in buying, and running. But you only have to do 1, I repeat, ONE run. But you have to do your cuts right. At least 140-150 proof has been hit, every time with the gooseneck potstill head. 166 proof easily with the diamond head 3/4 packed, without using the auxilary coil in the head. And even though this still was found 2nd hand/used, the Colonel still helped. He answered all questions, gave advice, and even sent an email of the manual. Results have been more than expected to say the least.
