Hi all Im trying a recipe I havent seen on the forum yet
15 Gallon Wash
6 Lbs of Sweet Feed
6 Lbs of Cane Sugar
3 Lb can of brewers malt
Combined all ingredients in a 5 gallon SS boiler @ 120 degrees. Sat for an hour cooking, SG was at about 1.07 for the 5 gallons o wash.
I then divided the mixture between three carboys and filled each with about 3 gallons of cool water. Sat for 24 hours before I pitched in Lalvin ec 118. I forgot to take a SG reading of each of the carboys, bummer.

Common wisdom around here is that the hops' bitterness will come through in the distillate.

Re: Sweet Feed and malt Recipe
Is the stock and stable sweetfeed a all grain mix? Or does it have pressed pellets in it? The stock and stable I found had pellets. From what most have said the pellets aren't good for fermenting. You mite go read through Kentucky Shiners sweetfeed thread in the tried and true recipe section. Lots of good info in there.
