Playlist for still-warming party - any suggestions

Post by Pelligri »

Greetings,

About to run my first still for the first time. Silly me built an old fashioned CM potstill-wot-thinks-its-a-reflux-column. I'm in the process of designing something a bit more up to date, but as this is the first time I've built pretty much anything that works, thought it deserved a first run and a party.

So I am having a few well-trusted chums around to celebrate and consume the first batch, probably in July.

Thought it would be good to put together some tunes in keeping with the celebration. Any suggestions as to what would be good play at a moonshine/speakeasy party?

Go to the " whats your music thread" over in the off topic forum.
Tha'd be my play list........other than the obvious moonshine song references.

For me it's bluegrass, oldtime, and irish music -- especially references to whiskey. Varying from partying up-beat to down in the gutter nothing's going right type of songs :-)

Ahhh... I grew up singing that song. It's one my grandfather and father would sing at family get togethers. Love it.

One of the greatest song lyrics of all time:
"If your liquor's too red it'll swell up your head,
better stick to that good ol' mountain dew."

This thread has run off the rails a little bit but I am really enjoying it. Keep it up!
