Stalled Rum Fermentation
Hi, my rum washes seem to be consistently stalling at a final gravity of 1.03. My starting BRIX is around 23. The PH is 5.5. I've been rehydrating and pitching the yeast at 37C, and it's fermenting in a hot environment (roughly 85F). I'm getting a vigorous ferment for the first couple of days, but without fail, it's stalls at 1.03. Any suggestions?

Re: Stalled Rum Fermentation
what are you using for nutrients? molasses lacks vitamin B and nitrogen.
also dont see your starting SG .molasses wont finish below 1.00SG. do to
unfermentable.

Re: Stalled Rum Fermentation
1.03 is likely done for molasses. There are a LOT of unfermentable crap in molasses.
