Re: shisha
Yes sir. Got a can of strawberry somewhere around here? Don't have any charcoals. And my hoka is in storage. Brought it back from the middle east in 91. Been a long time. But good stuff. Couldn't find supplies here for a long time. But there are many places selling it now.
Thanks Spooky now I want to get it out of storage.

Re: shisha
Hey they have ballbearings for my check valve. Mine got lost and I need a replacement.
So where did you guys buy your Hookas at? How did you get into it?
I got mine at a hooka shop in Dahuran Saudi Arabia. The same place I found out about it. They had a few setup around the shop with different flavors you could try. And I tried them all. I bought 4 or 5 different ones and a bunch of charcoal to bring home. I knew I wouldn't be able to find any state side at the time. I bought a single hose made of brass. The brasswork isn't the best but its not an off the shelf one you will find around here. It's a glass vase with goldleaf and some peaches on it. The bowl was a crappy brown ceramic thing. I hated it and it broke on the way back to the states. I could still use it but it looked even worse then it did new. I finally got a new one that matches much better about 8 years ago at a local shop. Got new rubber gaskets to the old ones were falling apart. I can't get to it to take a pic. But I have one around here I will scan when I find it.

Re: shisha
i have a Khalil Mamoon Hookah that i just got because my other one moreless just fell apart after a few years of service. in the past, id smoked on one here and there, but latley, iv became fond of it. i dont smoek cigarettes, and pipes never really tasted good to me, they were always harsh.... but a hooka is a smooth flavorful smoke.
theres alot of reviews on diferent kinds of shisha, and hookas on youtube, but the one guy that does the best job is "iranianshishasmoker" hees got good info. iv always liked trying different things from different cultures. in order to apriciate your own culture, you gotta see what others are about.
the bowl you had was probabaly an egyptian style bowl. thats what im using at the moment because my other one broke,, but ill be ordering one of the vortex bowles real soon!

I have a cheap shitty one that isnt authentic at all - genuine middle eastern hookahs are really hard to get here. But mine does the job, all the same ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: shisha
I had bought a cheap one but it got rusty and is now useless, so Im currently building my own hookah from copper pipe, its gonna be an unusual design but should work great. I will post some pics when im done.

Yall don't wanna hear this, but two AMAZING things will happen if yall quit tobacco:
1) Yer cuts will get MUCH better and become almost too simple.
2) Women will give yall more attention. You will get more dances, kisses, and possibly other "perks" once yer smoke free...
I wish yall luck...

Re: shisha
i don't usually smoke anything. But i live in a small college town that does have a hookah bar that you can also get food and beer at. It is really nice to go sit around with one going between a group of people and it rather tasty. I couldn't do it all the time for my lungs sake but it is a very nice treat once and a while.

Re: shisha
Yes I need to quit smoking. But I beleave its one of those things that you can't do until you are ready to do so. I've tried numerous times. Failed miserably every time. I'm just not ready yet. And even if I do quit cigarettes I will still smoke shisha and cigars on occasions. Just not all the time. My time is coming soon.theholymackerel wrote:Yall don't wanna hear this, but two AMAZING things will happen if yall quit tobacco:

Re: shisha
Yea its mostly for the flavor, the shisha (tobacco) usually has all the nicotine and stuff washed out and then has fruit and flavorings added to it along with glycerin which gives it the thick smoke.MuleKicker wrote:Now.... Re: shisha
Yeah what Risen said. If you were to look at the tabaco you would never think its for smoking. It's like a dripping wet chewing tabaco. Coated with syrup.
Double top secret probation.
We were just leaving. What a good idea!![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: shisha
I began smoking aged twelve and stopped sixty years later. I stopped because all the women at our dance club said that I stink. I wasn't happy about that so I stopped. Now I have the same women coming and asking me to dance with them. That's one positive.theholymackerel wrote:Yall don't wanna hear this, but two AMAZING things will happen if yall quit tobacco:

After stopping smoking I began to cough a lot. This is normal. I wondered why I was coughing more and took more notice of the phlegm I coughed up. I didn't worry while I was a smoker. The shit that comes out of my lungs/throat is a beautiful daffodill yellow colour and the lumps of blood interspersed in it look so wonderfully cool. I simply adore looking at my blood flecked phlegm and wish I had stopped smoking fifty nine years ago.
Keep it up guys, and one day y'all will be able to look at your own daffodill coloured phlegm with blood clots embedded in it and wonder - as I do - where the fuck is the blood coming from. You can bet your gonads that the tobacco companies all know where it's coming from.
Enjoy your next smoke.

Re: shisha
Been off the cigarettes for maybe twenty years.
Tried a few times to give up (was off them for ten years once, after a dose of the gas used to fumigate boxes of dried fruit)
but finally quit when I was down for a few days with a bad case of the 'flu.
It was bad enough so I couldn't smoke; and I decided that it was just silly to start again when the first few smokes would taste terrible.
In my late teens, around 1948 to 1951, and working at night, there was a radio music program sponsored by Philip Morris (pretty sure it was them). and the slogan was to smoke their cigarettes, "You've nothing to lose but your smoker's cough" .
Needless to say I have still got the damn cough.
But like blanik I smell as sweet as a rose.
