1000 Ways to Die

Post by jeepkidd »

I haven't watched it yet, but I have it downloading so I can.

The show "1000 Ways to Die", Season 4 Episode 13 - "Dying to Tell the Story" has a story in it, "Death #452" called "Dis Still Killed 'Em (a.k.a. Full Proof)"

It takes place April 22, 1931 in Morgantown, WV at the height of both the Prohibition Era and the Great Depression, a poor, Appalachian couple decide to make money by selling moonshine. They sample the first liquid produced by their still, not realizing that it contains high levels of methanol, which causes blindness and eventual organ failure.

Once it has downloaded I'll put it in my dropbox and upload a link for anyone who wants to watch it.
Cheers!

The 'episode' was 100% bullshit (like ALL of the 1000 ways to die). They can take any story, embellish it to 'sell' to spike's intended audience (post pubescent boys, but hey, I watch it also, lol).

But it certainly does look 'bad' for homemade hooch. Take anything that show, shows, with a grain of salt. It is like watching the manshow (or now Manswers), and expecting that the advise is actually 'good'.

It always amazes me the propaganda that's put out on TV. Was watching Modern Marvels the other day about alcohol production. Basically a pretty interesting show except for two things that stuck out to me. They had the balls to say home distillation was illeagal primarily due to the fire hazard. Ok, so lets make matches, candles, stoves, kerosene heaters, chimneys, ....ad infinitum illeagal because they are fire hazards. Second was that self important whisky taster from New York saying how wonderful everything tasted. Jeez Louise, maybe if he tasted some of the illeagal, fire hazard, swill that makes you go blind, stuff we produce he just might have a different opinion.

Ok, off the soap box now.

Big R another thing if this was true why can you get a fuel permit? TV just overflowith with the Bullshite that they think will get more ratings and sell more adds. Who cares if Its true we have freedom of speech and don't have to tell you where the info came from. WTFlip?

I saw that episode. They ran the alcohol through an old car radiator. Us much smarter guys use the radiators for cooling water.

I saw that episode...nicely laid back and the only BS was drinkin on the job, but it's plain to see the tongue in cheek there.

They had a good setup and was doin it right. It's educational and I'm sure it will get the HD tick of approval.
