btw, what's BW? ... If you're talkin about bourbon, you prolly should be aiming for 160 instead of 190 proof.

Those are perf plates. I would suggest 4 if all you want are whiskey type products. You will be very suprised at how much flavor this will carry, especially if you run it fast.

Mine runs 10 gallon wash start to finish in about 4 hours give or take. Granted its not a ks but kind of similar.

Wow! That's a far cry from 6-8 hrs stripping and 12 hrs spirit run. And probably easier to make cut's right?

And what percent is your wash? I hear
Buffalo Trace uses a 6% wash and Jack Daniels uses a 10% wash.
Ive been using Nottingham or Safale 04 yeast, but
Im going to try bread cake yeast next.

Hey guys, I'm glad you were able to get such a great still head
built. The commercial stills I see have a lot smaller take off
coming off the column. My question is a 2in elbow needed or
just because it looks really cool? Would a 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 work

you could use a smaller take off yes. The 2" adds strength. The final condenser is pretty heavy when it is full of water.

So with the added plates is the BW coming off as a true neutral? Or are flavors coming over? I have seen a few flutes around with more plates added. But reports on how the perform making a neutral are kinda scares. Just curious?

I have a chillzilla I use for beer. It's a counterflow chiller. I could probably use it for the condenser till I make the real deal,
not as purty but super efficient.
