Hey from North Florida

Post by alligatorob »

I am interested, not yet a distiller but want to give it a try.

I got a question about the law, so long as you just do this for your own consumption what are the odds you'll raise the interest of the law and what happens if you do?

Anybody here ever get caught? If so where'd you go wrong and what happened? If not I'll worry less............

I could go on and on about how stupid I think our law is on this matter, but I spect I'd be preaching to the choir and not say much new. Seems to me distilling for home use is about as evil as homemade bread.

This sure is a great site, I'm already doing a lot of my research here. I did ask a question in another post about equipment http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=25715

Welcome to the forum, you will get no arguments from me about your opinion of the law. Haven't heard of any members getting busted on this site, some of the reasons I believe are we don't sell and we work from as safe a standpoint as we can so we don't win Darwin Awards. So as a newbie we have some required reading on the parent site to protect yourself and give you an introduction to this great hobby.

Some of my LEO friends have told me that the officers here really don't give two flips. "it's only my business when you make it my business". In other words, if you are not running a micro distillery and selling or running an unsafe operation (Fire trucks and ambulances) they have bigger fish to fry. I think most of the members here will tell you the same. Keep a low profile and have fun with it.

Welcome aboard.

+1 on the info given. Don't tell don't sell.

But even if you Don't tell and don't sell. That doesn't mean someone couldn't get a wild hair and bust you. It's always a possibility. Because it is illegal.

Good luck be safe take your time.
