Enjoying a nice helping of homemade Shrimp and Andoule Ettoufe' with homemade whiskey cake ( made with Oaked UJ's )for dessert.

The pulled pork is almost finished on the smoker. The black eyed peas almost finished. Greens are a cooking., and the cabbage is next. Yummm

Did not know that Bayou. I'll remember that but I do like " la cuisine de maw-maw always liked cajun food son lives in Bousardds? Hopin to go see him this winter he has been down there for 6 months now he likes it.

In my wives coon ass tradition :) Roast pork, Black eye peas in fatback roux and cole slaw.

Not sure what tradition is around here but had some incredible duck liver patte and venison steaks wrapped in bacon for dinner. The wife and I are doing a marathon session of Star Wars Blue Ray all day and waitn for my buddy to come over to go snowmobiling tomorrow

Up here in the Nawth, the tradition is corned beef & cabbage. Cooking as I type.

AC yes that is what my son's girlfriend said when I first met her, Yes I am true born coon ass then I asked if she can to cook damn can she cook. I did not know there was a tradition of pork,cabbage and black eyed peas for new year dinner.

We do collards instead of cabbage, but blackeyed peas n pork goes without sayin. ....hell, almost any day of the week is a good day for that menu!
