Blackberry......

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

All seems good, no one else can smell sulphur like I can. I have had three or four people smell it with no prompting or pre-association with any sort of smell and they say it smells like orange juice.....

Maybe I am just, whilst being oblivious to alliteration, a super sulphur sensitive smelling superman?

Anyways sg down to 1.06 so it is working away :)

A good neighbor of mine has blackberry bushes 3 ft taller than me so I'm very fascinated about this one! Hope it works!

interesting aliced, keep us posted, around here in the PNW blackberries are about as hard to find as farts at a chili cook off.
Sometimes I wonder why is that Frisbee getting bigger......and then it hits me.

I had a wash go super slow in early January, it was just too cold, maybe you need a little heat to help things along. :D

I'm predicting another 2 weeks to get it down to .95 at this rate. What's your target?

Yeah it is a bit cool here, although I do not have a thermometer @ present. I have the 19lt carboy full and had a 4.5 litre full as well, until last night when we drank the 4.5lt, certainly did the trick. So much for being patient eh? Haha. Anyways off to the scrap metal dealers to find some stainless soon!

Hmmm it was the same the other day, but it is still bubbling well...........

I would suspect it was my error reading the long stick thingy with the marks on it :)

Although I have a heating pad here, but no thermometer to find out what is what!

I might put it on for four hours or so to see if the bubble rate jumps....

Four hours? I'd do 8, so it has time to slowly warm, you don't wanna culture shock it.

 though I've never needed a heat blanket myself.

heat pad works pretty good but a submersible fish tank heater works even better, they have a thermostat too, it has become a winter time must for me.. :D
