wow.. really no hangover

Post by astronomical »

I have some anxiety issues which are often strongly increased the day after drinking. Hangovers from hell. Can't control it.

I wasn't surprised that the refluxed vodka left me feeling fine. I was extremely surprised that my loose cut oaked UJSM also left me feeling fine the next day. I don't think it had much heads but there was some. I wanted to make sure it had flavor rather than just oak some tight cut hearts.

This really makes me wonder how much crap is in commercial spirits. If I had drank that much jack I woulda spent a whole entire day incapacitated and drowning anxiety attacks in klonopin. It's not really a hangover, I just call it that. Its hell and it had stopped me from enjoying my booze without dreading the consequences.

If you must know, I've had this issue since a near death car crash several years ago. No alcohol was involved.

I know others who have [real] anxiety attacks (feels like a heart attack and immobilizes you) have experienced the same issues with alcohol. It's nice to feel normal again.

Great! Be aware that alcohol is an addictive substance...keep track of your consumption.

Commercial booze has it worked out. Either we cannot afford to get pissed on their product, or we can afford to get pissed, suffer, and go back for more. There are some exceptions in the commercial world and not many people know of them. Generally they are greedy bastards who feed other greedy bastards at the expense and sufferance of the consumer.

Doing it yourself exposes the greedy bastards. This is not confined to stillin. These bastards have resisted our efforts and will continue to resist by any means fair and foul.

But you have to watch out if you have a night out, and drink some of that commercial stuff/junk.

You just should not consume it in the same proportions as home distilled, well cut and aged hooch.

I forgot recently, and 2 shots of pisca at the brother in laws, my head was not a good place to be morning after. Beer also played a bad, bad part.
You design it, I make it. Copper and Stainless. Down under. PM me.

It seems funny that our government tells us how bad our home brew is for us and that you should never drink any of this home brewed liquor yet when you drink the CRAP out of the so call safe liquor stores, the next day you are paying for it with the BIG HANGOVER! Yet our home brew does not do this to you? Looks like the store bought stuff is trying to keep us from enjoying a nice sip! Home distilling is far better for you than the store bought crap!

astronomical, you might consider seeing a hypnotist for those immobilizing anxiety attacks. It may seem like it is a "medical" issue, but you wouldn't believe how many physical reactions that can be triggered subconsciously that do not make any sense consciously. It might sound  but it's true. The more I've studied hypnosis the more interesting it becomes.

I believe I've less tolerance for even top notch commercial spirits since I been making my own. There's got to be a couple well made ones out there (for less than $50/bottle). I still love Lagavulin 16 yr, but it gives my wallet a hangover.

just like everything else,
most people really notice the sulfates in wine for hangovers,
get a farm fresh egg or grow a head of lettuce and taste the difference,
dis-ease is at a all time high, i wonder why

because companies are all about profit do you think that the big distilleries throw away the foreshots or just keep them in for max $ ?

Hey astronomical
With me it has reached the point that I can't and won't drink commercial spirits.
They taste disgusting... all I can taste is what I call "industrial solvent" I suspect it is heads.
You can even smell it in some cases.

It's home brew or no brew from now on :D
