Ok I have a Anheuser Bush keg. It measures 13 7/8 inches inside the top ring and 15 3/4 inches on the outside of the top ring. Is that what you are looking for?.

Later today I will go out and remeasure but one of the kegs I measured was Anheuser Bush?

OK, I remeasured the kegs and we are both right. PP measured from the inside of the lip which it would have to clear to if you were leaving it on and that is at 13-7/8" I measured from the bottom of the inside near the arrow you had at the ring. Hope this helps.

Yeh I really didn't know what measurement Kiwi L wanted. And most won't want to cut the tip ring off. So it needs to be worked around.

bok head plates in ,thermo port above sight glass ,condenser water ins and outs ,take off needle valve ready .....ill stare at this for a few days and out with the torch

backed off the bok build today and dragged a keg back in the shed ...So it seams our kegs arent that far apart at all american verse New Zealand

mine N.Z 15 + 9/16" (396 mm)( bloody inches) outside diameter at the pink arrow in my pic below

Its back to lid seals again ,the simplest way i feel is my copper dome has an outside diameter of 398 mm in its new material to come (ie 1.2 mm copper sheet finished pressed )

Our NZ Keg Wall thickness is 1.26 mm

if wanted to keep handles on the top lip fill them in some how ,cut out the keg top to near the edge and fizz the copper dome to the top lip ,or cut the top lip off (handle part) and my lid sits right on the lovely smooth top dome part stainless keg
Fizz it on in either of the spots with a 6" or 4" manhole (in the copper dome ) .and bingo id imagine ..
for interest sake the volume of 1 x copper 1/2 domes is approx 15.5 liters so instantly this gives a lovely extra head space on the 50 liter keg of 30 % .

aahhww man, I was excited to see this build finished! Its nearly exactly what I have envisioned with my build, I'm in the designing process of my first still and was interested to see how the sight glass turned out, I hate the idea of not being able to see whats goin on in there!

Anyway, out of curiosity, where did you get the parts for it? I'm assuming your using borosilicate glass? and I like the looks of that brass gate valve, very appealing design. I have a keg I am using as the boiler as well using a triclamp and threaded fittings to attach the column. I actually just broke down and ordered the 2" copper pipe to keg kit from Mile Hi Distilling.

Hi Spyked ,the brass needle valve is from a plumbing supply here in kiwi land and the brass nut is one i tickle up and turned a threaded part to fit it and to take the copper pipe .....ill post some more when i get back on the case ...take care ..kiwi_L
