Bigger and Better
Here is my first still http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 32&t=21965. I'm wanting to go bigger. I have many family members that drink like fish and many friends that do too, and we party often. When i cook.. i need to REALLY COOK just to keep up with demand. We cant buy commercial crap anymore, then you have to wait for the aging on oak to take place.... I was thinking a 100qt ss stock pot with lid. Cut a hole in the lid and add an upsidedown mixin bowl. The mixing bowl would be welded to the lid with silver solder. The lid would be sealed with flour paste. I wanted to run 2" copper pipe thru lid up about a 1.5 feet then send it over another 1.5 foot, then reduce down to 1.5" copper pipe for couple feet, then send it down and reduce into 1" worm. probably run the worm thru one of those red tubs with the rope handles. I run the garden hose into the bucket and cut overflow holes into the top side of the bucket. I put rubber grommets and vinyl tubbing into that. I put the tubing into sump pump drainage tubing and run it off into the corn field about 25 feet away. Anyway, i was wondering if the copper piping sounded about right for the boiler. It's kind of just doubling what i got now. See i run 25 gal ferments, and i want a still that i can strip the entire ferment in. I would use the smaller 11gal for spirit runs. I've only been doing this for a year, so i wanted to run this by some of the more expirienced guys before i spend a load of tax money on building material. Thanks guys in advance, and happy stillin'.
