Cycling and Cigars- back in season

Post by astronomical »

Finally getting some beautiful days to bike again. I'm a pretty avid bicycler. I'm sure plenty of you motorcyclists are happy as well. I also like my cigars. For me, theres not much better than a 2-5 hour bike ride followed by a medium full cigar (Padilla 1932 toro, Liga T52, something decent at least) accompanied by some whiskey and a stout or porter (Gonzo is a go to).

I did a 34mi trek for my first ride this season. I saw a lot of wildlife and listened to some great tunes. The trails were suprisingly unpopulated. I only had to scream obsceneties at one person who thought he could hustle by some pedestrians before I arrived at the pinch point (You dont pass on the left into oncoming traffic). Of the few people I saw there was an acceptable amount of milfs out jogging in their reebok easytones. I know I haven't been riding enough because my cheshire grin isn't yet met with the rapeish reciprocal stares I'm accustomed to. I blame it on pizza and binge drinking. I guess its time to drop the 30 pounds I put on during winter and then my clothes will fit again.

Whatcha been smokin lately? Any good rides or cruises?

Looking forward to some trail riding soon. I'm an avid off road motorcyclist and sometimes mountain biker. It's been raining quite a bit recently, so the trails should have perfect traction and texture after the rain stops for a few days. I tore my bicep tendon riding last year around Thanksgiving, and just recently got clearance from my doctor to get back on the horse, so I am really ready to go. Getting old sucks! The forest is one of my favorite places to be, but milfs in reebok easytones would be one of the few things I can think of that could make it better. Here in NorCal, me and my boys ride in the Mendocino and El Dorado National forest trail networks.

Don't smoke cigars, but nothing is better than a cold beer at the mid point of an all day loop, and several more at the end. The finest trail beer is Coors banquet in a can. Seriously. It packs light, stays cold, goes down easy, feels good and packs out smaller and lighter than it packed in. Fine craft beer sucks on the trail, as bottles are heavy, dangerous in a crash and get too frothy on vigorous trail ride. I'm looking forward to breaking out some homemade spirits for the post-ride toast this year! Several friends and I are leasing a cabin that's a quarter mile from the trail network, so no one has to drive home after the ride and the many toasts can be made. Now if only we can get those milfs up to the forest........

Ha! Funny you posted that. I stopped smoking cigars when I started having kids (7 years ago). I got the urge after work yesterday and sparked one up for the first time in years!

Lol.. I can't! Everything is maxed out in the brew room I'm building and the UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker) I decided to finally build. There's just not enough time in the day or money in the account.

I ride a Voodoo 29er full sispension mountain bike and a KLR 650. Used to race road bikes when I was much younger... Beer and bicycles are a natural...

Back in the serious days, we used to hang out at Hanks, between Flores country store and a BBQ joint. 'Milkshakes' were required after a ride. 'Milkshakes' were a 32 ounce foam cup of beer from the bbq place... Those were some seriously fun times... We were smokin too, but it weren't no cigar... :shh:

Put down 140mi over 4 days of riding. Pretty solid week. I'm back on my cycling diet of grilling chicken or steak, every day. I should probably write my own dietary plan. Who wouldn't wan't to eat pit smoked and grilled food every day?Lifes good.... Lots of creatine, whey, argenine/ornithine, casien, MVs, and chia seeds.

Some stogs as of recent were:

Don Pepin Cuban classic- small vitola no longer made
Flor de Cano (dunno what it was but it was covered in plume)
NUB cameroon 460... I like cammies
REO- :sick: Two years in my humidor and its still rough.. I think I'll donate these to some blunt smokers
La Aurora 1495 double toro---- great cigar

let the good times roll...

I also tuned my mountain bike today.
