Heating my pool with my still.

Little or nothing to do with distillation.

Heating my pool with my still.

Post by wheresthereef »

I am getting an added benefit from my still. I got a little 600 gallon an hour submersible pump. I ran water hoses to and from my still to my pool and am using that water for my condenser.

I'm now not having to make a bunch of ice, I'm not wasting any water, and I'm getting the added benefit of heating my pool a bit. Anybody else ever done that?
I'm a simple man, I like a simple band, and I use a simple pot still.

There have been a few members that use a pool for a cooling reservoir. Good use of available resources.

Depending on what chemicals you use? Some can be corrosive. But a good fresh water flush after a run can help with that.

I thought about that a few days. Saw myself distilling in our holiday house in Hungary. Only there is no pool yet.

...

Good thinking!
