Looking to do a all corn mash, a little advice
As of late i've seen a lot of post about corn mashes, and i've decided I would like to make a 5 gallons mash all cracked corn. But my question is how many #'s of cracked corn am I going to have to use? I am shooting for a abv of about 12% - 14% if possible. I was just curious on how much corn this is going to take. I haven't seen post on how many #'s it will take. So is the taste good? That is one reason I want to try an all corn mash is alot of people say that the taste is great.

6-8% if to much corn is used it will be so thick that it cant be stirred..
as stated you cant use all cracked corn..you need enzymes from some where.

Using just cracked corn you're gonna need some alpha amalyase enzyme for conversion to sugars. You can use 2 lb/gal but it's gonna get really thick and hard to stir and scorching can be a real problem, so ya really gotta stay on top of it. Your yields will be on the low side, 5-6%abv so to get any volume it will take LOTS of corn. When I do just corn like this I generally add 3 lbs sugar (inverted)/5 gal (with 8 lbs cracked corn) just to get the yield up. You do get a nice corn likker and it's not too expensive.
