Now that is an interesting site... well worth the look. It is nice to hear in more descriptive terms some of the things I've thought over time.
Thanks fer postin it...

Thanks, a lot of descriptors they use do not sound pleasant. Seaweedy, medicinal, leathery, dirt, household cleaner or air freshener, grape skins, green grass stalks, Aroma of thick oil - linseed, Trace of creosote, Earthy, smoky, medicinal, with green mulch, and these are supposed to be top of the line scotches. I just bought a bottle of Black Grouse because it had good reviews. Upon tasting it I wasn't impressed at all. I wondered why people liked the stuff. Last night I tried it again and was intrigued by the small nuances I found within it. There are a lot of scotches out there and very expensive ones to boot. This stuff is complex.

I absolutely LOVE scotch, never tried to make it. But I always hated paying for it at the store. I started out drinking chivas regal, then went on to glen feddich, and glen levitt. loved the single malts, people say its an acquired taste but, I loved it from the start. Nothing better

I have a Roughstock Montana whiskey (100% barley) that has a leathery taste that is awesome. The only way to describe it is that it tastes like a new leather jacket smells. I was suspect at first but it is a really nice whiskey. A little water and a single ice cube and It's perfect for sipping IMO.

Re: Scotch Whisky Tasting Info
The Black Grouse I just bought has a strong sherry nose w/smoke. Starting to grow on me. I hope I don't get hooked on Scotch now.
