Sorry to say, my batch didn't last a week. I mixed in with sweet tea and unsweetened tea, not to mention my wife's lemonade packets she mixes in her water bottle.. Just can't stop drinking it. It's pretty much gone now. Prolly got 2 ounces left in the bottom of the bottle. So I guess part of this sugar head wash will be going to making some more tea!

Here at our house we love Chai Tea even cold. Anyone ever try this. Chai Green Tea and Cinimon Chai. Sounds good to me.

I like Chai Tea too. I'm using Spiced Chai. It got so dark so fast I took the bags out after an over noght soak. It is great! My wife loves it. Now for some espresso - never tried it so another experiment.
Just mixed up an Arnold Palmer and it is great. Usually mad with sweet tea wodka, chambord and lemonade, I changed it to fix my wallet. Chambord is expensive! raspberry lemonade or what I got today is with mango, and STV. Mmmmm, Mmmmmm.
Just a note, I retract my previous statement about earl grey being disappointing - 6 months on and it is now beautifully balanced, with the bergamont flavour coming over very nicely and the tannin from the tea all smoothed out - Time heals all ills !
Where has all the rum gone? . . .

So you steep the tea in the vodka, not the water and mix them? I guess what I'm after is will the alcohol extract different parts of the tea and bring out different flavors than what water would. Kinda like H2O steam on plastic is fine, but ethanol steam and plastic is toxic... Wouldn't wanna poison people with my tea... :/

Tonight I decided to jump in on this. At the moment I have 250 mL of approximately 50% ABV sitting on my stir plate with just under a gram of Oolong tea. Smelled way better than the Earl Grey that was sitting there. I'm curious as to how the constant agitation rather than just basic steeping will effect the flavor. I would think in the worst case scenario is that I have just really strong flavor that could be diluted with more alcohol. I asked my sister, who is the tea drinker, and she said that it shouldn't leave a bitter taste if 'steeped' for a long period of time. We will see. Once the tea flavor is at the desired point I'll strain the tea leafs out and add sweetener until just right. Haven't decided which sweetener to use yet. I was thinking agave nectar might be a nice twist. Second would be pure cane sugar. Finally, once the basic sweet tea flavor is perfect I'll add some lemon zest for a nice finish.
Funny just seeing this post for the first time, but it looks like it's been kicking around for a few years. I just made this exact same thing last weekend and posted pics in the what did you make thread.
750 ml 100 proof UJSSM 1/3 cup sugar turned into simple syrup and three Irish breakfast tea bags. Sat for 4-5 hours then into the fridge to chill. All it needs is some mint to make it perfect. Just have to remember not to chug it. Luckily the little lady don't drink high proof alcohol anymore. So it's all mine.
So it's not really sweat tea vodka, but still a tasty Beverage

I only used 35cl of vodka though, two tea bags for 7 hours, and 30g of sugar. Lovely. Wish I had some iced tea to have it with but nowhere here sells the stuff
i have made this also. Instead of putting tea bags in 80 proof for a few days, ilI brew the tea on the stove in water. Then i use the brewed tea to proof down my nutural to 80 instead of using water like i normally would. Then add sugar.
it mixes real nice with lemonaide & ice

Adding the simple syrup to 100 proof and steeping tea bags right in the likker worked well. After a week it turned nice and syrupy like blackberry brandy. It's been a big hit here.

Definitely gonna give this a try. There are several tea stores in the down-town area where I live...and they are as passionate about flavor profiles as we are. In fact, the wife and I had some lengthy lessons about the vast variety of teas...seams like a perfect fit.
I make it with UJSSM and it comes out great. Was a big hit on the 4th. 1quart jar 3 tea bags and 1/3 cup sugar. After a week it gets nice a syrupy in the fridge like blackberry brandy. It's good stuff

I'll vouch for this recipe too. I've made it with regular tea, Earl Grey, jasmine blossom green tea, chai spice. Each one is great! I like the regular or Earl Grey, a glass full of ice mixed half with lemonade. You don't even know there is liquor in it. It can be dangerous on a hot day when you're really thirsty!!
Just thought I'd bump this since the weather is getting nice and warm here in the states. Can I also vote for this to be in the tried and true? It really is a great, easy recipe.
+ x on the hard Arnold Palmer (lemonade & iced tea), Duke!!! Very tasty and you can mix it a glass at a time. Caution: big ice teas glasses of 10-15% alcohol (think 2/3rds bottle of wine) can knock the sobriety right out of you! The stuff is so good on a hot summer day I have a hard time nursing a glass for more than a few minutes.

Well, sorry about that...this is the only one I saw. I didn't realize there were more. For me the simplicity of this one is what sticks out. The amount of sugar is perfect, no too sweet but sweet enough, then the amount of alcohol you want, water the rest of the way up and the 2 tea bags. You can't get much easier than that.
Just Sayin I thought it was just me banging that back in a few minutes! So good and so easy it's dangerous!!
