vertical product condensor?
I have been looking into buying a bubble plate column and am just wondering why in most of the designs that are built they have a vertical product condenser instead of having a 45 degree lyne arm style like on a pot still?
A good day is any day you finish with the same number of bones you started with, and all the ligaments attached.

Re: vertical product condensor?
The vertical reflux condenser (dephlegmater) in a flute build is needed to flood the theoretical plates that the bubble-cap sits on, the product condenser (Graham) needs to be vertical to so that no choking of the condenser occurs.
Their is no reason why the product condenser could not be placed at a 45deg angle, but you would have to use a different condenser design...
The current Graham product condenser on the flute is efficient enough to condense all vapours produced by the still to product.
Have a look Here...

Re: vertical product condensor?
Remember, that alcohol laden vapour is heavier than O2 and falls straight down with gravity.
Some sort of turbulence would have to be introduced into a condenser set to 45 deg.
Better to run with a Graham or Shotgun IMO...
Hope it helps...

Some venders give You an option To get your product condenser further away if needed as I imagine it would get scary collecting too close To an open flame.
Trample the injured and hurdle the dead.
