Probably a Uncle Jesse's sour mash, what would you suggest as a second? That was a very helpfully and informative link. Thank you! So if I were to use a garden hose outside for my cooling would that be okay?

I would stick with UJSSM for a few generations. It's harder to learn using different recipes.

Yes a garden hose will work.

I've done a few Ujssm's as of late with my pot still but this will be a nice new experience for me. Hopefully I will get some good product out of it!

I have the same one. The mods from PrairiePiss make this still much better. My only drawback is doing potstill with it and the electric element I have for it. For reflux though, it works great pulling 95%. Just make sure to loose that rubber plug and get some cork. I have a mod i am making now to replace the rubber and will post it soon. Hint, it involves a wine bottle cork.

Yeah I read the mods and they sounds great. What kind of heating element do you use? Also how long does it take to heat up?

I have the 1500w element from Milehi. Only takes about an hour to heat up and start drippin. Great for reflux but not so great for pot mode. Thats fine though. My potstill mode comes out at the highest of 65% and the drinkable goods come out at 55%. Lots of flavor and no diluting nessesary. Actually kinda good maybe. My oatmeal banana gerber batch came out beautiful.

Yeah how much was that heating element ? I was looking into what I should use for a hear source weather or not a propane heater. What do you think I should do? Hm sounds interesting! Im defiantly looking forward to making some good liquor to make the strawberry panty dropper! Hopefully this will be a good investment for me!

I would suggest a water heater element and controller. Like an MK5500.

Im thinking the same thing but I didnt know any better when i bought mine. My controler was 109 but it came with the still. I think this controler I have is great for making neutrals, so If you want panty dropper or apple pie or anything that requires a neutral this element would be just fine. I just dont like it for making whiskey.

By the way Prairie, Im trying to get a hold of a friend that is a plumber so he can solder my Mod for my cork replacement for the top of my tower, You might like this.
