I hope you do allright. Out of the path but might end up with some refugees. Still gonna fill up the tanks and check the generator.

MM -- looks like you guys are going to get the right hand to the jaw. Hope you guys come through O'k. Looks like we'll be just to the west of the path. We typically fare better when we're on the west. Schools closed tomorrow and we'll hunker down and ride it out. Down in bayou country and rising water is always a big concern.

Best of luck to all in the affected areas.

I've been getting blown by Isaac all day...

... err... uhhh... that came out wrong.

LOL

It's been windy here in Central Florida with on and off rain... but that's about it.

I hope it don't get too bad, I live far enough from the coast to not have to worry about the storm surge but wind sure tears up the place....we are predicted to only see 60 to 70 mph winds, so it definately no Katrina, ya'll stay safe down in the bayou.

Be safe fellers.... Maybe make some foreshots candles in case of power outage? Ive used a small (100 mL?) ball jelly jar, twisted up a cotton ball to make a wick, poked a hole through the top for the wick, and voila. Great way to use up those foreshots.

Edit: found a pic.

Yea man -- I'm at work myself. We are getting admits to the hospital like crazy. Folks will bring their elderly family members in with "something" wrong with them so as to have them stay overnight for observation. Easier to care for grandma, with all her ailments, when she is in the hospital (paid for by Medicare). :wtf:

Anyways, everything battened down at home and everyone safe indoors. I will be driving home in about 2 hours -- should be an interesting trip. I think marshwalker is getting the lion's share of this one -- hope they fare O'k there.

Well made it through another one in Houma. We caught a break and the eye came right over us so no real flooding .Got a buttload of power poles ripped up or broke down The south end of the parrish down closer to the gulf had some high water but its already draining out but they gonna be out of power for at least two to three weeks in some areas. East and south of new orleans got a lot of flooding from the storm surge .Grand Isle and the Port Sulpher area got winds in excess of 100 mph and in some spots up to ten feet of water from the storm surge .I know some folks over in slidell that didn't get any water from the storm itself then the winds and tidesurge hit em with 5 feet in the leveed neighborhood. Ya'll say a prayer for them and hug your kids tonight and be thankfull that the ones we love are safe.

Sorry ta hear about my southern brothers, hope y'all r safe... but damn, we need it... up here in tha mountains, we need tha huricains ta feed our springs. Damn its been dry... fer a couple years now... Thank you father, for finally letting it rain...my spring has dried up completely, for the first time I can remember... this rain will help with our cattle, hogs, goats, and crops... its raining now, finally, thank-you, I hope those down yonder are safe......

I know the fellas in the mid US needed some rain, we even needed a little in the south....but DAMMIT  We received over 30 inches in 4 days with this storm. There has been lots of flooding of homes that people thought were safe from flooding. I can only imagine what south LA must look like. I hope everyone made it through ok, sure would be good to hear from our LA members.
