oak chips

I was just thinking .Would oak chips in thumper add any flavor or smoothness. Or is it a bad thought. With possible gumming or clogging. I bought some chpis from brew store before I saw all the stuff about the sticks.

You DON'T want any solids in your process, from boiler to takeoff. They can clog up your vapor path and turn your still into a bomb.

Besides, oak won't do you any good during the run. You want the booze to sit on the oak for a couple months at least. (No rushing that process.)

Thanks ..The clog was my worries. I was just pondering a thought,On adding a little woodsy flavor without age.
