Pretty cool. The "hot pit" is an awesome place to be.
Mrs. Braz and I used to be racing reporters for the first Internet racing news site (back in the day). We were in Alan Kulwicki's pit at Atlanta the year he won the cup. That was also The King's last race, and is considered one of the top ten Cup races of all time. I also had the opportunity to work for ABC on some races as the assistant to one of the pit reporters. I worked with Jerry Punch, Gary Gerrold and a couple of others. Standing on the grid at Indy when they give the command will give you goose bumps every time. Sorry to go on, but those were some fantastic experiences and you have really jogged my memory.

Never been to a race but always have wanted to go. From what I understand they're REALLY loud. Glad you had fun!

Went to my first last spring while on the east coast in Dover, Delaware and yes they are load 120,000 people watching cars go around the 1 mile track for close to 5 hours.Washashore wrote:Never been to a race but always have wanted to go. I roughly 10 miles from the Kansas speedway. And I can hear them pretty good here. LOL
I could get into being down in the pits. I need to work on my boss to get something like that. His hobby is NASCAR recovery driver. does the two races here and two others a year.
Very cool man. I'm jealous.

That must have been fantastic. My favorite race that I've been to was last years Homestead race. Everything on the line, must win situation, and Tony drove his butt off.Braz wrote:Pretty cool. The "hot pit" is an awesome place to be.

I think the best part about NASCAR is that they treat their fans like guests. Everbody makes you feel important and welcome. Most of the other sports treat their fans like a necessary evil. NASCAR embraces their fans.
This is the first time Mrs Reef and I have been in the pit. It was an incredible experience.
