Very nice ! ! !
It is not the matter, nor, the space between the matter,
but rather, it is that finite point at which the two meet,
that, and only that, is what is significant...........
(Of course, I could be wrong) ..........

Milk can.
Dragon bubble ball on top.
Potstill head on that.
But with some reflux going on there as well.
A "one run" whiskey?

How does that double ferule work on the heating element wire?? Does the outer one slide on the wire to access the element conections??

That looks like a big steaming pile of bitch crap. You need to bag it and tag it. Then send it to me. So I can dispose of it properly. Please.

That's awesome! Really nice work. I am inspired. I don't suppose you could tell us where you got those two SS reducers? I would love to put a dragon on my still.

Re: Meet the "Bitch"
Can someone explain how this 'hybrid" configuration translates into the distillation process starting with a basic wash.
I have about 8 runs with my traditional pot still so I understand that theory and process.
I understand the theory behind the fractioning column and bubbler plates?
But what happens when you combine a bubbler or two and a pot still head on top?
How does it affect the final product?
What sort of ABV can you expect to get out ?
Are heads or tails compressed at all?
And how is flavor of the final product affected?
What happens if you add an additional bubbler (for a total of two)?
Thanks!

Re: Meet the "Bitch"
Two passive bubble balls will give you about one extra distillation. If I interpret the sorta small copper tubes situated in the lower part of your normal potstill head as a way to introduce cooling water, you will create reflux and activate the bubble balls for sure. Not sure "activating" of "passive" are the right words, but hope you get what I try to get across.
With cooling, you can get one distillation per bubble ball for sure. Giving you three in total 3 distillation cycles.
You can make whiskey in one run. My experience with that is that cuts change very fast. Maybe collect in smaller vessles than usual?
Odin.

Re: Meet the "Bitch"
Hi Qball ,
One assumes that heksa has in some way calculated that this config will land his ABV closer to barrel strength with minimal cooling adjustments?
Furthermore, by introducing the forced reflux he should be able to flatten out the classic curve/ABV drop that occurs with a traditional pot still run. He should be able to hold steady for a longer period of time over the course of the run.

Hi LWTCS, could you elaborate, or point me in the direction for research, on the classic curve/ABV drop of pot stills? Sorry, but I haven't spent much time in the Pot Distillation Theory forum.LWTCS wrote:Furthermore, by introducing the forced reflux he should be able to flatten out the classic curve/ABV drop that occurs with a traditional pot still run.

Re: Meet the "Bitch"
Hi Lampshade,
In a nut shell,,,the forced reflux amounts to better compression. And as such ,a more defined transition between heads hearts and tails
Though that compression may very well compromise some character,,,,for some folks.

Re: Meet the "Bitch"
Well...Cleaning (alcohol) run was done today. I started at 2:25PM with 15liters mix of tails ,heads ,rum oils at 17% abv.
At 5PM I had to turn it off.(unwanted visitors ) Collected 3.6liters at 83% abv
She started at 84% for the first 10 min. than steady 83% till she was turn off. I was watching those bubbles like a super movie
I love my bitch !!
